During the discussion, I emphasised the urgent need for a credible deterrent to tackle small boat crossings - whether that's ensuring individuals are returned to their home countries or a safe third country.
The Government must take decisive action that not only curtails these dangerous crossings but also establishes a system that is fair and just for the British people.
