This afternoon, I had a call with the Environment Agency’s Area Director to discuss the ongoing issues surrounding Penton Hook Island, the River Thames Scheme, and the problem of slum boats.
Regarding Penton Hook Island, I emphasised the need for the Environment Agency to take a more proactive approach to public engagement. I also pressed them to revisit all current assumptions regarding cost, timelines, and legal constraints relating to Penton Hook, to ensure every possible option is being fully explored.
